Army Credentialing Program

The Army’s Credentialing Program develops talent for the Army while simultaneously providing Veterans with the technical skills needed to help close the gap in civilian employment skills. Check out our latest overview video.

There are 4 parts of to the Army Credentialing Program: (1) Mandatory Credentials for specific MOSs, (2) Army Proponent Funded (Institutionally Delivered Credentials), (3) United States Military Apprenticeship Program (USMAP), (4) the Army Credentialing Assistance Program.

Army Credentialing Assistance



The Army Credentialing Assistance Program is much like the Army’s Tuition Assistance (TA) funding, which is provided to eligible Soldiers working towards an academic degree, CA funds allows Soldiers to pursue voluntary credentials. CA is a voluntary, off-duty program that directly contributes to improving Total Army readiness, supporting Soldiers’ professional development, retaining quality Soldiers, and preparing Soldiers for meaningful employment upon transition from military service. Institutionally Delivered Credential Program



The Army offers Active Duty, Army Reserve, and National Guard Soldiers the opportunity to earn selected credentials throughout the Soldier's career at Army training schools. For more details about the program, click here.

United States Military Apprenticeship Program (USMAP)



USMAP is an opportunity for Active Duty, Army Reserve and National Guard Soldiers to enhance their job skills and show motivation for more challenging military assignments and obtain Certificates and Journeyman Cards aligned with their MOS.
